Why Healthcare

Coming out as trans in the 4th largest city in the world, just a couple of miles from the world's largest medical center, Lou had trouble finding access to care.

Din is a popular choice on business and tech sites. It's also a good font for creating page titles with impact.

Why Law Enforcement

Lou's dad was a cop when he was growing up. He knows queer people will be interacting with cops and wants officers to understand how to treat LGBTQ+ people.

With trans healthcare as a key component of his advocacy portfolio, he has helped educate healthcare providers across Texas and medical student groups along the 3rd Coast on culturally competent care for the LGBTQ communities. Lou is currently the co-chair for the Doctor's for Change Queer Health Committee.

Lou has helped educate the Houston Police Department, the Harris County Sheriff's Office, and the Houston FBI office on culturally competent interactions with the LGBTQ communities. He has also provided guidance to local law enforcement offices to update policy and procedures for public safety employees and their interactions with people in confinement and the larger community. He is an alum of the Houston FBI Citizen Academy 2018.
